What is the Mobelli Buyback™

The Mobelli Buyback™ is an innovative program which allows customers to own Mobelli Furniture For Life™ by trading in their furniture every 5 years or more. It is open to all customers who bought directly from Mobelli. All you have to do to qualify is prove that you are the original purchaser (if you don’t have your invoice we most probably do) and upgrade your current set to either a fresher model of the same collection or a newer model of a higher priced collection.

How does it work?

Mobelli looks at your original purchase invoice for goods that you acquired 5 years ago or longer and determine a value which in turn it allocates for you to have in “credit” with Mobelli.  The initial value only takes into account the value of the furniture less transport and cushion costs. You can use this “credit” to upgrade your furniture.

The Mobelli BuyBack™ offer is subject to terms and conditions which Mobelli reserves the right to change at any time regardless of what the terms and conditions were when you bought the furniture.

What is considered an Upgrade?

An upgrade complies with one of the options below:

  1. A like for like, In other words, the exact same set exchanged for a newer one (for example, an old Palermo V2 set for a new Palermo V2 set of the same configuration).
  2. The replacement item is in the same category but must be higher priced than the original item. For example, a 6 seater table may be upgraded for another 6 seater table but only if the latter is priced higher than the original item.

Is there a situation where the BuyBack™ upgrade does not apply?

As stated, goods must be like for like. For example, a sun lounger cannot be traded in for a table, even if that table is at a higher price. A lounging set cannot be traded in for an umbrella and so forth. Please note that you can only apply an upgrade to replacement items that are priced higher than the original item.

How do I know if I qualify for the BuyBack™ offer?

Can my BuyBack™ credit be applied to all of Mobelli products?

Subject to our terms and conditions outlined in this document the BuyBack™ can be applied to all products in our catalogue provided that they are billed at our full retail price and are not on any kind of sale. Some lower margin items are excluded from the upgrade offer. These items may be marked with an LM at their description, on our quoting system.

Does my furniture have to be in tip top condition?

We realise that nothing lasts forever. The elements, specifically sun and wind as well as wear and tear, affect the condition of the furniture. We want you to be happy and so we open this offer up to you, no matter the state of your furniture. The Mobelli items can even be broken and torn – you still qualify.

Is there a time limit on the offer?

No. The offer is valid for all purchases that have taken place at least 5 years ago. If your furniture is 10 years old you still qualify for this offer.

I was lucky and bought my furniture at a special discount – do I still qualify?

Yes. We calculate the BuyBack™ credit that you have based on the amount that you originally paid, regardless if it was discounted or not.

Why are cushions excluded?

We truly believe that comfort and longevity are the most important factors in the Mobelli philosophy. To that end we use the best materials for the cushions but price the cushions at low margins to keep them affordable for our customers. As such, we simply do not discount or credit cushions.

What do I do with my existing furniture?

You send it back to us. Rest assured that we will put these to good use. We will either donate the furniture to less fortunate people or recycle them.

Cushions

Can I leave Mobelli furniture outside in winter?

Yes, Mobelli furniture can be left outside all year round.

The furniture can stand outside in the rain with no hassles. If rain is expected to last days on hand you can either leave your cushions at a slant so water will rub off or take your cushions undercover. Our cushions are water resistant and not water proof.

What is so special about Mobelli cushions?

We use only The Best Acrylic fabric for outdoor conditions. Our acrylic cushions can be left outside no matter the weather and are water resistant, super hard wearing, resistant to mould and mildew and fading is so minimal you will not notice it. You can literally get out of the pool and sit on the cushions, dripping wet, without worry.

The cushions are the best in their class. We know that a cushion is where most people interact with their furniture, where you touch and feel your lifestyle investment and as such we take pains to making sure that this is a comfortable experience.

With our cushions you need not worry about the weather as you can leave the cushions outside year round. Imagine that – cushions that can be left outside? What a novel idea.

Some collections include “free cushions” which are made from Polyester. These do not necessarily have the same properties as the Acrylic fabric cushions.

My cushions are soaked because of the rain- now what?

Mobelli cushions are water resistant and if water penetrates the fabric, it may find it difficult to exit from the bottom due to its excellent water repellency properties. Simply tilt the cushion so that water is diverted towards the zip. Open the zip and your cushion should dry quickly.

My cushions are dirty – what should I do?

There are two recommended ways to clean your cushions.

The simplest way to clean your cushions is to take a damp cloth or mild detergent (Sunlight Liquid and water) and rub the stain gently with a damp cloth. Rinse the cushion at an angle to remove any residue and then leave it out in the sun to dry.

For tougher stain you can machine wash. Remove the cover by folding the foam  being careful not to tear the zip stitching. Please wash on COLD WASH ONLY. Shrinking of the fabric will occur at high temperatures. Once washed leave to drip dry. Be careful to not damage the stitching when reinserting the foam into the fabric.

We do not recommend washing in a washing machine often. Cleaning by hand should get you’re the results you need.

Maintenance

Do you sell furniture covers?

Yes, on request we can make custom furniture covers for Mobelli products.

Does your furniture rust?

Aluminium, which is used in 99% of our collections does not rust. (read the coastal exclusion at the end). Fun fact: Its surface is protected by a natural layer of aluminium oxide. This prevents the metal below from coming into contact with air and oxygen. The layer of aluminium oxide does not flake off, unlike rust which can flake off the surface of iron and steel objects.

A few collections use Stainless Steel (such as our umbrellas). Stainless Steel gives off the appearance of rust but this is on the surface only and can be easily cleaned with soapy water.

Please note that near the coast conditions for rust are severe. It is your responsibility to hose down the furniture regularly to prevent the appearance of rust as a result of the saline attach on the metal.

How frequently must I maintain the furniture?

Mobelli provides high quality furniture that is low-maintenance. All you need to do is clean the furniture now and again. No maintenance other than that is required. Teak wood is used on some table tops and will fade to a silver grey. To maintain its original colour purchase teak oil from your neighbourhood hardware store.

I am having a problem with my furniture – what steps can I take?

We are sorry that you are experiencing problems with your product. We will attempt to fix all issues whether the product is still under guarantee or not. Our guarantee is a carry in guarantee and will be covered in the area from which goods were dispatched. In other words, you may be required to bring in faulty goods to our Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban dispatches. We realise that this may be difficult for some and therefore we suggest that you first contact us at the branch telephone and then send us images of the faults via email. We will determine if the item qualifies for repair under our guarantee or not. If the furniture needs to be brought in for repairs, a delivery charge will be levied regardless if the furniture is still in the guarantee period.  If we determine that an item can be repaired at the premises, a call out fee will be levied.

How long do I have to wait for the furniture once I’ve ordered it?

In the unlikely event of us not having the stock on hand you will experience different waiting period depending on the time of year. Speak to your account manager to get an accurate estimate.

I am planning to buy large volume for my Hotel / Restaurant – how long do I have to wait?

At Mobelli we pride ourselves on carrying large stock holding which means that often we have stock for a restaurant or hotel that have left things a bit too late.  However, we do prefer that you make your buying decision around 3 months before you need the goods. With correct planning you will always benefit from better prices.

Call us and chat to us – we have large quantity of “loan” chairs that you can use whilst you wait for your furniture to arrive.

Why do you charge for delivery?

We find that we are able to deliver better value by excluding delivery charges from the cost of the furniture. This enables us to offer the goods at a better price. Additionally, this is best practice for all furniture shops around the world.

Please note that our warehousing may not necessarily be near the shop you purchase the furniture from and sometime delivery charges may be higher than you think. Mobelli delivery, though, is not merely a drop and go event. It is a white glove service where the delivery team will set up the furniture for you and remove boxes and wrapping.

Please do not use them as a redecorating service by asking them to move your old furniture around. They do need to get to the next customer waiting for their new Mobelli furniture.

What guarantee is offered on Mobelli?

Our guarantee is based on the standard German product guarantee and is available for viewing here.

How can cancel my order?

We are sad to see you go but if you need to cancel your order please note that we have a cancellation policy in place under the information tab in the home screen.
