FURNITURE FOR LIFE | MOBELLI BUYBACK™

The Mobelli Buyback™ is an innovative program which allows customers to own Mobelli Furniture For Life™ by upgrading their furniture every five years or more. It is open to all customers who bought directly from Mobelli.
Mobelli looks at your original purchase invoice for goods that you acquired five years ago or longer and determine a value which in turn it allocates for you to have in “credit” with Mobelli. The initial value only takes into account the value of the furniture less transport and cushion costs. You can use this “credit” to upgrade your furniture.

An upgrade complies with one of the two options below:

A ‘like for like’ upgrade: This is where the same item or set is exchanged for a newer one. For example, an old Palermo V2 set for a new Palermo V2 set of the same configuration.

A higher value upgrade: In this instance, the replacement item is in the same category but must be of higher value than the original item. For example, a six-seater table may be upgraded for another six seater table but only if the latter is priced higher than the original item.

Yes, there are three instances where the Buyback will not apply.

The item you wish to purchase is not an upgrade. In other words, it is not a newer version or of higher value than the item you are trading in.

The item you wish to purchase with buyback credit is not a ‘like-for-like’ item. For example, a lounge set cannot be traded in for an umbrella.

The Buyback is not offered on cushions. This is because your cushions are priced relatively low compared to the quality. As such the low margins do not leave enough room for us to apply credit or discounts to them.

If the item you wish to purchase is on the sale, the Buyback offer will not apply.

Every original Mobelli customer with any furniture purchased from Mobelli at any price level can participate in the BuyBack™ upgrade program so long as you have your Mobelli invoice or we can find the original invoice in our system.

No. The offer is valid for all Mobelli furniture that is five years and older. There is no maximum age.

Yes. We calculate the BuyBack™ credit that you have based on the amount that you originally paid, regardless of the discount.

We genuinely believe that comfort and longevity are the most important factors in the Mobelli philosophy. To that end, we use the best materials for the cushions but price the cushions at low margins to keep them affordable for our customers. As such, we simply do not discount or credit cushions.

We will collect your old furniture when we deliver your new furniture. Rest assured we will put it to good use either by donating it to the less fortunate or recycling it.

Subject to our terms and conditions outlined in this document the BuyBack™ can be applied to all products in our catalogue provided that they are billed at our full retail price and are not on any kind of sale. Some lower margin items are excluded from the upgrade offer. These items may be marked with an LM at their description, on our quoting system.

GENERAL

Yes, our furniture has an aesthetically pleasing style and is comfortable enough to use indoors.
Yes. All of our items can be customised. You can request to have the wicker, frame colour and fabrics changed. Keep in mind, however, that customisation will take time, so make sure there is enough lead time between when you place the order and when you require the furniture. Cushions are customised more regularly and lead times for these are shorter, depending on the time of year. Finally, please be aware that we, unfortunately, do not manufacture prototypes or one-off items.

The best type of outdoor furniture is whatever furniture you and your family or friends will enjoy the most. We believe that the most enjoyable furniture is comfortable, stylish and easy to maintain.

Wood is a beautiful natural material, but unfortunately, it does not help us achieve a hassle-free life. This is because the wood will have to be treated regularly. If outdoor wooden furniture is left untreated for long periods, the colour will change, and the wood will crack. This can happen even if the wood is treated.

That said, we cannot deny that wood is a stunning touch which many people can’t resist. Because of this, we supply tables made from Aluminium that have elements of wood. This keeps maintenance to a minimum whilst still offering the natural wood feeling.

At Mobelli we pride ourselves on our eco-friendly furniture and processes of making the furniture. The wicker and aluminium can be easily recyclable at the end of their useful life with no impact on the environment. We inspect the facilities where the furniture is made regularly to ensure that all waste is treated in an environmentally friendly manner.<

We use Tempered (also known as toughened) glass for all our collections. Tempered glass is a type of safety glass which, if broken will crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards. Tempered glass is four times stronger than standard glass and much safer and is safe for outdoor use.
The simple answer is YES!

Precautions need to be taken when storms are expected or if you stay in a very windy area. If the furniture is on the coast, make sure to regularly hose off your furniture to prevent salt from damaging the metal components.
At Mobelli we strive to offer “next day delivery” on as many items as possible; however, this is not always possible. The advanced order tag means that items will be made specifically for you and that a waiting period will apply.
Mobelli Furniture is handmade to very high standards using high-quality materials. This allows the products to withstand the harsh South African conditions. Mobelli Furniture is stylish, low-maintenance and enjoyable.

Innovative Fabrics

Our fabrics, specifically the Mobelli acrylic fabrics, are durable and do not fade or tear due to harsh sunlight. They are easy to clean and are water resistant which means your cushions can stay outside year round.

Powder Coating

We use powder coating instead of liquid paint on the exposed frames of our prestige collections. This creates a hard scratch resistant finish that will last longer outdoors.

Maintenance Free

Furniture should be enjoyed. Simply wash your outdoor furniture with a hosepipe when it gets dusty, or use a mild soap and cloth if there are stubborn dirt marks.

Truly Outdoor

Our outdoor can be outside in both the sun and rain. You’d be surprised how few “outdoor” items can stand to be outside all year round.
Most of our collections are made with Aluminium which is a light weight metal.

Tables usually weigh more because of the glass or stone tops or heavy bases we have. Chairs are always light so that you can move to and from the table easily.
Yes, you can mix and match our collections as you please.

CUSHIONS

Yes, Mobelli furniture can be left outside all year round.

The furniture can stand outside in the rain with no hassles. If rain is expected to last days on hand, you can either leave your cushions at a slant so water will rub off or take your cushions undercover. Our cushions are water resistant but not waterproof.
Simply put, our cushions are the best in their class. We use only the best acrylic fabric that is made for outdoor conditions. Our acrylic cushions can be left outside no matter the weather and are water resistant, hard wearing, and resistant to mould and mildew. Fading is minimal and only happens over long periods.

Note that some collections include “free cushions” which are made from Polyester. These do not have the same properties as the Acrylic fabric cushion and do not carry a guarantee.
Mobelli cushions are water resistant which means it is difficult for water to get in and out (but not impossible). If water penetrates the fabric leave the cushion tilted at an angle so that the water is diverted towards the zip. Open the zip, and the cushion will dry relatively quickly.
Here are two recommended ways to clean your cushions.

The simplest way to clean your cushions is to rub the stain gently with a damp cloth. Rinse the cushion at an angle to remove any residue and then leave it out in the sun to dry. If need be, use a mild detergent like dishwashing liquid.

For tougher stains, you can machine wash the cushions. Remove the cover by folding the foam. Be careful not to tear the zip stitching. Please wash on COLD WASH ONLY because the fabric will shrink if washed in hot water. Once washed leave to air dry. Be careful not to damage the stitching when re-inserting the foam into the fabric.

We do not recommend washing the cushions in a washing machine often. Cleaning them by hand should get you the results you need.

MAINTENANCE

Aluminium, which is used in 99% of our collections, does not rust. This is because the surface is protected by a natural layer of aluminium oxide which prevents the metal below from coming into contact with air and oxygen. The layer of aluminium oxide does not flake off, unlike rust which can flake off the surface of iron and steel objects.

A few collections, like our umbrellas, use Stainless Steel. Stainless Steel gives off the appearance of rust, but this is on the surface only and can easily be removed with soapy water.

Do you live by the sea? The sea salt spray may cling to the metal of your furniture and look like rust. To avoid this, please ensure you hose down the furniture regularly.
Mobelli provides high-quality furniture that is low-maintenance. All you need to do is clean the furniture now and again. No maintenance other than that is required. Teak wood is used on some table tops and will fade to a silver grey. To maintain its original colour, apply teak oil which you can purchase from a hardware store.

We are sorry that you are experiencing problems with your product. We will attempt to fix all issues whether the product is still under guarantee or not. Our guarantee is a carry in guarantee and will be covered in the area from which goods were dispatched. In other words, you may be required to bring in faulty goods to our Johannesburg, or Cape Town dispatches. We realise that this may be difficult for some and therefore we suggest that you first contact us at the branch telephone and then send us images of the faults via email. We will determine if the item qualifies for repair under our guarantee or not. If the furniture needs to be brought in for repairs, a delivery charge will be levied regardless if the furniture is still in the guarantee period. If we determine that an item can be repaired at the premises, a call out fee will be levied.

ORDERS, SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

In most cases, we can deliver your furniture within 1 to 5 days. In the unlikely event where we don’t have stock on hand, it will take longer depending on the item ordered and the time of year. Speak to your account manager to get an accurate estimate.
At Mobelli we pride ourselves on carrying large stock holding which means that often we have enough stock for a restaurant or hotel – but not always. We generally recommend you decide on your furniture three months before you need it. This will ensure the process goes smoothly and you are more likely to receive a better price.

That said, we are always looking for ways to help our clients. If you urgently need furniture, we offer “loan” chairs that you can use while you wait for your furniture to arrive.
We understand that plans can change and your order may need to be cancelled. Please review the cancellation policy here to learn how to cancel your order.

Like most furniture companies around the world, Mobelli does charge for delivery. Separating the delivery cost and the cost of the furniture allows us to offer our clients a fairer price.

The cost of delivery will vary depending on how far the delivery point is from the warehouse and not the store.

Mobelli offers a white-glove delivery service to Johannesburg and Cape Town metro areas. Our team will set up the furniture where you want it and remove all the packaging afterwards. This service is not available for areas outside these metros, in this case, we use a 3rd party delivery company that will deliver your packaged items to you.

RETURNS

At Mobelli we are passionate about customer service. If you want to return the products purchased, we will replace or refund the cost of the item (excluding shipping and processing fees) for a period of 7 days from purchase, on condition that the product is defective, damaged or not what you ordered.

Should items be delivered and are found to be faulty or defective, Mobelli will replace these items and sort out the issue in line with our guarantee.

The items must be in the original box and in the original condition it was received in to be considered for a return or refund. All returns are examined by our returns department to confirm the reason for the return. Thereafter, you will receive a refund, replacement or credit in line with our findings.

Bulk items (such as furniture items) must be inspected upon delivery and if any fault is found, it must be communicated to our customer service department immediately. Shipping costs on these items are significant and will be for your account so we request our customers to be very thorough in checking the items when receiving them.

In the case of a return, you may arrange your own transport to our facility in either Johannesburg or Cape Town. You are not required to use the original delivery company.

Please note that we do not allow returns for reasons such as (but not limited to):

  • I don’t like the item(s) anymore
  • I thought it would be bigger/smaller and it does not fit in my space
  • I don’t like the colour
  • I have changed my mind

If you return a product and it is found to be NOT faulty, you will not be entitled for any replacement or credit and the full cost of re-delivering the product back you will be incurred by you.

Our product may require simple assembly and we provide the tools required to do the job. If you do not have the ability to assemble the product correctly, please ensure that you get someone with the necessary capabilities to assist you.

Products which have been personalised, specially made up for you or are on a sale cannot be returned.

In the event that Mobelli accepts a return or a refund, a 20% handling fee will be charged to the client.
